 Kasilof RiverDrift Boat Salmon Fishing  The Kasilof River is located about 12 miles south of Soldotna. This is a drift only river with an excellent run of king salmon, red salmon and silver salmon. The king salmon season starts in May with the peak of the early king salmon run on about the 10th of June with great fishing until about the 20th of June. The second king salmon run starts in mid July to the end of king salmon season on the 31st of July. Red salmon fishing on the Kasilof River can be good any time in July depending on the tides. Silver salmon fishing on the Kasilof River starts in earnst in August. This is a great river to fish for silvers as there is very little fishing pressure.
