The Kenai River is the home of the world record king salmon.  King salmon fishing on the Kenai River is a wonderful way to experience the thrill of Alaska.  King fishing on the Kenai River starts in late May and runs through July 31.  In late May and June there is little to moderate fishing pressure on the river.  During these months we are restricted to using no bait and there is a slot limit on the size of fish you can keep.  In July, especially the last two weeks of July, there is a lot of fishing pressure.  During July you can use bait and there is no slot limit.

Red salmon fishing on the Kenai River can be phenomenal.  The red salmon start to show up in large numbers in mid July.

Silver salmon fishing on the Kenai River starts in late July and runs through October.  Usually by the first week of August silvers are showing up in good numbers.  

The Kasilof River is located about 12 miles from Soldotna.   This is a drift only river.  The Kasilof River has a strong run of king salmon, red salmon and silver salmon.  King salmon fishing starts in May and runs through July 31.  The first two weeks of June and the last two weeks in July are the peak dates to fish for king salmon on the Kasilof River.

Red salmon come up in large numbers on the Kasilof starting in mid June and run through July.

Silver salmon start to show up in August and run through September.

A variety of fishing methods are used to help catch the fish of your dreams. 

During a typical day of fishing we will back bounce, back troll and run Kwik Fish.  All of these methods are effective and will be used depending on the tide and water conditions.  The guide will go over all of the methods with you at the beginning of the day.

We use quality gear to ensure you the best opportunity at catching the fish of your dreams.  The boat is a Willie’s drift boat and can hold four people and the guide.
